Meet Sean Patrick,
LCPC and Licensed Guide

“We tend to gravitate toward people we feel we can relate to or whom we believe understand us. Herein is a tenet of my business and personal philosophy. I took a long road to get where I am today. There were times in life when I felt very lost, misunderstood, angry and helpless. What I have discovered on this journey is that most things can be conquered through desire, hard work and, when appropriate, a willingness to seek and accept help from others. It often felt like I was trying to carry too much and the world kept adding to my burden. I was afraid to ask for help because that would be admitting I couldn’t do it on my own. As humans, we are beautifully imperfect beings, and that’s ok.

The day I decided to become a therapist, my intentions were to be as transparent as possible, share what I deem is clinically appropriate and try to live my life by example. Very few people’s lives go from A to B to C, but with help and guidance we can learn to live up to our best selves. You will find I am empathetic and honest which will help you explore your personal struggles. I am not afraid to call things out and address them; there’s no point in avoiding the elephant in the room. Using traditional and nontraditional therapeutic techniques, blended together, I guide my clients to reach their highest potential.”

Clinical background

Sean has worked with individuals, couples, families, children, adolescents and young adults from many cultural backgrounds and from all walks of life. While living on the east coast after graduate school, Sean worked for a few different outreach agencies. He has worked in both the traditional office setting and outreach, which involves counseling individual clients in their homes. Sean worked with his clients to build or restore vocational and daily living skills, as well as general independence, for individuals with disabilities or developmental delays. After feeling a calling to the mountains, Sean moved to Montana to work at a therapeutic boarding school. This is where he was exposed to the adages of using his love of the outdoors to help enrich the therapeutic process. It was during therapeutic outdoor excursions with the school where Sean witnessed the majority of growth within his assigned group occur. This is where the idea for Evoke Changes was born.
